I was looking for some great sounding downloadable shows where the Grateful Dead's Donna Jean is at her best?

I really like this one. She sings lovely backing vocals on Bertha.

Actually 76 is a great year for shows where Donna shines.

Cool show too! Eyes>TMNS and a TOO>Comes A Time>Franklin's in the second set.

5/25/77 The Mosque in Virginia.

In this show her normally spine crushing, cat disembowling, fingernails being ripped off wails in Scarlet/Fire I actually enjoy.

SDH-re: The Mosque:
Stop reading my mind. It's getting annoying ;-)

actually, I've found DJ sounding her best with JGB. I love her voice on "Stir It Up" and "Do the Things You Do" on the show they officially released on the "Pure Jerry" series from 1977.

I will try in the future.

And no, you should really get the yellow one, but that's just me.

Oh, sorry, guess I should try harder.

There are some decent quality auds from the may 77 run like this from the palladium.

Garden, Barton Hall also avail for d-load.

Just saw Donna Jean and the Tricksters this past weekend. Free show Thursday and a ticketed gig Friday. The band cranks, and there is an interesting dynamic, where she is not really a focal point for the show, playing the role of backup singer. No playin-esque circa 73 wailing, just good tunes, tastefully done...
